Junior Golfer Michael Sarro Wins PGA Toyota Tour Cup

[Location, Date]: Junior golfer Michael Sarro of Laguna Hills, Calif. has won the PGA Toyota Tour Cup that was held on August 12-13 at the Industry Hills Golf Club. The prestigious event featured a talented and elite field of junior golfers teeing off at the complex Zaharias Course (The Babe). At the end, only two golfers were able to break par.

Sarro’s scores of 69/71 for a two-day total of 140 helped him leap clear of the nearest competitor. He won the title on the last hole and was able to make a four-footer for par for the win. This win has helped Sarro qualify for the year-end Toyota Tour Cup championship at La Costa Golf Club in Carlsbad, CA. The event will be held from December 9-10.

Travis Cutler, PGA Junior Golf Manager, who handed Sarro the trophy stated: “This is a well-deserved win and Michael played awesome golf. I expect him to win several more Toyota Tour Cup events in the future and look forward to seeing him in the winning circle again. He is playing some very great golf these days.”

Sarro has been a consistent performer among the juniors. During the 2016 fall season, he finished ranked #1 on the player’s tour in the boy’s 15-18 age division. He received the Player of the Year award on January 21, 2017 at the PGA Southern California Junior Tour Banquet of Champions with over 300 people in attendance.

Sarro is improving with every tournament and is in the reckoning to become a future star. He will be looking to qualify for the U.S Junior Amateur Championship, U.S Amateur Championship and the U.S. Open.

Sarro is a member of Mission Viejo Country Club, Mission Viejo, CA.
